In a game designed to be the ultimate in precise, repetitive action, these are terrible things. Not only are your hands constantly gumming up a majority of the action, but the lack of precision means inadvertent blocking or potion-drinking is frequent. Hi, I’m Joe Faulstick from 2K and I’m excited to officially reveal that we’ve been working hard on bringing a great, strategic experience to PS Vita on December 3 with Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus. However, as those of you who have played a few handheld-to-mobile ports before (or who read the caption on the above picture) might deduce, playing Monster Hunter with virtual on-screen buttons is extraordinarily frustrating. It even looks better than the original and has support for four-player games via WiFi. ( Exclusive) Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus ( review) While the vanilla version is available on mobile, this Plus port is exclusive to Vita and is easily the definitive version of the game. Everything is here, from the towns to the countless training sessions and hours-long beast battles. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS | iOS | $18.99 | This here is an absolutely faithful port of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, the 2008 PSP entry of Japan's insanely popular and stamina-testing RPG series. It can be a bit of a grind, but the excellent fighting and consistently brilliant art more than compensates. The difficulty and layout of each area changes each time you play. Rather, you explore the various levels over and over again, levelling up and earning rewards. The goal is not to go from start to finish though. Dedicated Civilization nerds and those who played a lot of the first mobile entry might be underwhelmed, but the promise of regular updates and special events to play through is a hard proposition to argue with.Ībyss Odyssey packs 2D fighting and an incredibly unique art style. Crush everybody in your path with lasers like Lincoln, if you like, or strike a harmonious accord with your neighbours like Churchill. It is very similar to the last game, but updates have been made to the visuals (which are leagues ahead of the 2D cut-outs of the last game), the number of leaders available, and the kind of armies and weapons you can create. The original Revolution spin-off sacrificed some of this depth so as not to be so intimidating for newcomers, and now it is back with an entry built from the ground up for mobile and packing a huge amount of content. Handing the keys to any number of great societies over to the player, the games provide nearly infinite possibilities.
